Congressman Celso Gomera Regencia, alongside market vendors, officially filed graft charges against Iligan City Mayor Frederick W. Siao. The charges were submitted to the Office of the Ombudsman in Davao City, citing multiple violations of Philippine laws, including:

Section 3(e) and (g) of Republic Act No. 3019 (Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act)

Article 217 of the Revised Penal Code (Malversation of Public Funds)

Administrative offenses such as Grave Misconduct and Grave Abuse of Authority

These charges stem from alleged irregularities in the contract for the completion of the Pala-o Market Project, a long-awaited public initiative intended to enhance Iligan City's commercial infrastructure.
